Wow, it suddenly got cold! We were away for the weekend and when we returned, the house felt so cold I had to put the heating on. Where the weather had been feeling distinctly autumnal as we left August behind and meandered into September, there was still warmth in the sun when it was out and some of the windows were left open all day.
Not anymore!
There are things I enjoy about the autumn, like the cosy evenings and beautiful colours, and I love a walk in the woods when the leaves are crunchy beneath my feet. But this blustery, cold weather with dark grey skies has me shying away from any thought of venturing out and I find myself working out ways of avoiding leaving the house if at all possible!
However, in this country, we can be fairly sure that the unpleasant weather will soon end, so here’s to brighter, calmer days to come!
